An award from The National Heritage Lottery Fund - Dancing Through Time

We were recently awarded a grant from The National Heritage Lottery Fund to research and celebrate the life and legacy of the late Miss Nora Morrison MBE, who dedicated her life to teaching dance to people of all walks of life at Clarendon Chambers in Nottingham. Nora worked with young and old dancers, and those with visual impairments and no sight at all. Her work was truly magnificent and it will be an honour and a pleasure to find out more about her rich and varied life experiences as a dance teacher at Clarendon Chambers.

For this project, we will be working alongside local arts organisation When Women Gather, who currently occupy the dance studio at Clarendon Chambers.

Local Historian, Mo Cooper, is our in-house research practitioner for this project and she is already well underway with her research. We’ll be producing a mini-documentary to accompany the project and this will have its premier later on in the year in December, to which prestigious guests will be invited.

We’ll be sharing updates on our project - Dancing Through Time - as we progress through our project timeline. It’s thanks to players of The National Lottery that we are able to undertake this exciting project. Thanks also to Cllr David Mellen, Leader of Nottingham City Council, who offered support to the project from its first planning stages.
