Arnold Clark Community Fund - Creativity in special education schools!

Thanks to an award from Arnold Clark Community Fund, we are able to further extend our programme of bespoke music, dance and arts and craft workshops for special education schools in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

Our creative team of practitioners has been busy in Ash Lea Special School this week (21/4/22), and students in Key stage 3 have been exploring North African belly dance with Janet Rose from When Women Gather. Children enjoyed wearing hip belts to really experience their bodies moving in different ways and they loved listening to the rhythmic music whilst dancing together as a group.

Lots of connection and happy giggles!

Sally-Anne Marler from The Creative You also facilitated fantastic African-inspired arts and craft workshops with all Key Stage 3 classes.

Thanks to teaching staff for sharing such fantastic photos with us. We’ve also received some wonderful feedback on workshops. Read just below to see how much enjoyment and inspiration was drawn from these workshops.
