Celebrating Creativity and Connection: LW Arts CIC Receives National Lottery Community Fund Award

We're thrilled to highlight that LW Arts CIC was awarded funding from the National Lottery Community Fund to deliver an exciting new project in Nottingham: Diverse, Sustainable, Resilient, Creative & Healthy Families. This intergenerational community-building initiative is designed to bring together people of all ages through the power of the arts, fostering stronger connections, promoting wellbeing, and tackling the growing challenges of isolation and loneliness in our communities.

A Hub of Creativity: CommuniTree Performing arts & Community Arts Hub!

At the heart of the project is the CommuniTree Arts Hub, our vibrant city-centre space dedicated to creativity, inclusion, and community spirit. Over the months, the hub has hosted a series of creative workshops tailored for all ages. These workshops are also extending to SEND schools and various other locations across Nottingham, ensuring that as many people as possible can benefit from this enriching experience. From visual arts and crafts to music, dance, and storytelling, the workshops will offer a diverse range of activities that encourage self-expression, collaboration, and joy.

Tootie Fruitie - A Smoothie Symphony!

One of the project’s most exciting features is Tootie Fruitie - A Smoothie Symphony, a community-based musical theatre performance that promises to be a highlight for families. This drumming and singing adventure is specially designed for children aged 0-8 years and their families, combining energetic rhythms with catchy tunes to create an unforgettable experience. The performances are currently taking place in various community spaces, inviting everyone to join in the fun and celebrate the creativity of our youngest community members. Just a few of the spaces where we’ve performed already are Sneinton Festival, Stonebridge City Farm, Bulwell Forest Garden, and Bulwell Festival.

Our Mission: Building Stronger, Healthier Communities

At LW Arts CIC, our mission is to use the arts as a tool to support community wellbeing and address the growing issue of isolation and loneliness. We believe that creative activities can play a crucial role in bringing people together, offering a sense of belonging, and nurturing resilience. Our projects are designed to be inclusive, accessible, and reflective of the diverse communities we serve, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to participate, learn, and grow.
