Young learners in Nottingham enjoying online dance workshops with LW Arts - ‘Back in the Groove!’

Throughout the pandemic, children in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire’s schools have been taking part in our online rhythm and dance workshops, which form a part of our Arts Council England supported creative arts and wellbeing project, Back in the Groove. The project aims to not only teach important aspects of music and movement in the Early Years and Key Stage 1 curriculum, but also enhance children’s social and emotional development.

We incorporate storytelling into our workshops to engage all styles of learners and increase engagement and enjoyment.

Teachers have praised our programme and have said that this work is greatly ‘needed’, as young children have missed out on a significant portion of their education and development within areas such as social skills and emotional self-regulation.
