Rhythm & dance for children with additional learning needs - Groundwork & Comic Relief

in October 2020 we began a specific section of our ongoing creative arts and wellbeing project, Connect & Create. The initiative was first made public during the first UK national lockdown in March 2020, where we provided engaging online workshops for children and families in Nottingham. Our online delivery allowed us to reach more families in the region and also across the world, which was a great outcome!

Thanks to Groundwork and Comic Relief, we have been able to target a section of children and families in Nottingham that we hold very close to our hearts - children with additional learning needs and supporting their families with engaging creative arts and wellbeing activities.

With funding support from these organisations we’ve been able to continue working with children in their schools, in other support organisations and in a digital format over the platform of Zoom. A core team of three creative practitioners worked with children and led a rich programme of participatory workshops.

Thanks to the following organisations for welcoming us into their schools and online spaces:

  • Ash Lea School

  • Nethergate School

  • Oak Field School

  • Rainbow Parents Carers’ Forum

  • Footprints CEC
